A content father’s day

I was greeted by my son bright and early this morning, he helped me make coffee, and we sat outside while it was cool. A wonderful start to my fathers day holiday. It’s still evening so I still have more time, but it’s been a privilege to hang out with my son all day. No matter his mood or my mood, the quality time spent is momentous, I’m quite grateful. Tonight I’m doing a ribeye on a charcoal grill after having bbq from my family earlier!

In my marinade for the steak: vegetable oil (1 tablespoon), worcestshire (who cares how it’s spelled), liquid smoke, soy sauce, fresh lemon juice, and salt. In the fridge for 24 hours, then I removed the marinade and placed back in fridge uncovered for another 24. I trimmed some of the fat off for my breakfast with eggs today, which served as my taste test. I will salt and pepper additionally before grilling.

I’m going to use another farmer’s market find, broccoli, medium sized heads, as my side dish. Maybe some bacon, ooooh maybe bacon roasted broccoli. Ah, excellent, thanks everyone.
