My weird turkey brine

I’ll be honest with ya, I don’t want to go to the store so I’m being stubborn!

The Ingredients:

  • A whole bunch of water in a stockpot (enough to cover turkey)
  • a turkey (bag/innards removed – 13 pounder)
  • Couple halved onions
  • A whole bunch of pink salt (i’ll probably do like 1 cup)
  • A whole bunch of sugar (i’ll probably do 2 cups)
  • A whole bunch of peppercorns (i’m even using some sichuan)
  • Some orange juice (leftover from my son!)
  • A clove of garlic (i’ll just smash it)

The Method:

  • Rinse off turkey and remove bag and any innards (i’ll make gravy out of these fyi)
  • Put everything in a stock pot
  • Refrigerate for 24 hours or so

I am using what is available from my home! This is true bargain stuff hope you enjoy!
