I stopped taking creatine, my reasoning was that I felt it was hindering my weight loss and the positive effects weren’t enough to outweigh that (yes this is a joke).
There are other factors and i’ll definitely use up the powder at some point, it’ll just likely be revisited during a bulk. I use the term bulk loosely because with keto or low carb eating I feel like it’s a matter of added protein or good carbs, which leads me to my next point…
Carbs! Oh my gosh they’re sooooooo bad, just awful, disgusting, little creatures and they should be avoided at ALL COSTS.
Fuck that, I’m eating good carbs because of the effects they have on my workouts, goodness gracious i’m getting strong. MOST IMPORTANTLY I FEEL GREAT. Mentally, emotionally, physically, so I’ll continue whatever I can to maintain this.
I’m still tweaking and I haven’t tracked but I’ve been introducing complex carbs or natural sugars over the past 2 weeks and I have been able to lose weight and become leaner yet stronger. I’m also focusing on agility and mobility in addition to strength training/bodybuilding/ketogains/etc. Long story short, eating chickpea spaghetti with my son is more enjoyable than taking creatine and going strict keto. I love sharing food with him but part of this inspiration to eat more good foods is because of him, a quick story:
Yesterday I had an intense craving for one of his Welch’s fruit snacks, but instead I grabbed an apple and drizzled with honey and that fixed my sweet tooth. Today, I don’t feel bloated or have intense heartburn and I have plenty of energy aka this is typical to my keto lifestyle. Plus, my clothes are fitting and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments lately :).
I’ve had a great week and I look forward to hitting my goals as we welcome April.
-bye bye
