Receiving the benefits

Many thoughts will be poured out in this post, so I hope you’re ok with that. First of all, I want to talk about pre-workout and a funny story, then I want to talk about mental health and things i’ve learned this week, then I want to post a couple recipes too.

Pre-workout

Short PSA, do not take pre-workout and go to the gym on an empty stomach, you will feel very gross. I did this and after the tingling wore off I got very nauseous halfway through my workout and couldn’t finish, it felt like instant keto flu symptoms (iykyk). So the next time I went to the gym I planned like a big boy and ate a meal before taking pre-workout and I felt invincible. So, here you have two opposite ends of the pre-workout spectrum, I encourage you to make sure you are eating enough.

My Mentals

I definitely had some moments that triggered some trauma shit for me this week but I was able to get over it pretty quickly. I’ve gotten a lot of solace from my relationship with God and my faith, but God has put some incredible people in my life who support me! I do think God is healing my mind, I’ve been in a good headspace for the most part. I’ve done a lot of resting. That’s the big takeaway is to slow down and enjoy life, find quietness and happiness in the little things. Slowing down for me has been: meditation, prayer, manifesting, singing, and mindfulness practices (aka turning my phone the fuck off). Yay!

Cooking

I’ve been doing a lot of cooking, it’s been really rewarding and I’m enjoying my leftovers. The goal is to become more efficient and cook less often, so I’m cooking bigger portions. The past couple weeks I’ve done chili, pizza, and roasted a chicken, it’s been wonderful. Here are the links to those recipes: chili, pizza post w/chicken
